21st May 2015
Communicare is a dynamic charity which helps more than a quarter of a million Australians every year. Since 1977, the organisation has grown rapidly establishing a reputation for innovation, leadership and professional excellence in Support Services.
Communicare supported National Families Week in 2015 by holding their annual Drawing Competition. The competition encourages children up to the age of 12 years old to use their imagination and provide them with a great opportunity to develop their skills in visual arts, whilst thinking about what family means to them.
Entries were judged on their originality, concept and technique. The judges were also looking for pieces which stood out in representing this year's National Families Week theme of 'Stronger families, Stronger Communities'.
On the afternoon of May 21st, 2015, awards and prizes were presented to the top three entires in each category at a presentation ceremony.
Alhamdulillah, nine students from Al-Hidayah Islamic School were winners in the drawing competition.
