School Fees
When the new flat-rate tuition fee structure of $600 per student per year was introduced in the middle of 2005, it was subject to review at the end of 2006; at the end of 2006 it was decided that, despite increasing costs, tuition fees would remain at the same rate for 2007.
Due to continued and significant increases in school running costs and anticipated further increases in the near future, from the 1st of January 2008 the tuition fees will increase to $900.00 flat-rate per student per year for the first four children with no additional fee for the fifth and six and so on. Parents should note that this is the first actual increase in tuition fees in real terms since 1994. Tuition fees were reduced in 1996 from $1,400.00 a year to $1,200.00 per year under the old pro-rata system and, as mentioned above, the school moved to the fairer flat rate fee system of $600.00 per year in 2005.

There will also be an increase in bus fees from $15.00 per week per student to $20.00 per week per student up to four children only with no additional fee for the fifth and six and so on. Parents are reminded that even at $20.00 per week per child, this rate still only covers approximately half the cost of running the bus fleet.
The payment of tuition fees is a condition of enrolment in the Al-Hidayah Islamic School. As the demand for places in the school grows, continued placement in the school will depend on fees being paid. Al-Hamdulillah, with the Federal Government’s $667.95 Lump Sum Family Tax Benefit Part A Supplement payment per child, the affordability of the tuition fees in the Al-Hidayah Islamic School is not an issue.
